The majority of these situations can be avoided with regular cleaning.
Water tanks should be assessed, vacuumed, and sanitized annually or every two years to prevent sludge build-up. Over time, sludge accumulates at the bottom of your aquarium, creating an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. It also attracts insects, which attract animals, which increase the possibility of faecal matter and unhealthy water.
It does not matter whether your water tanks are in winter, summer, autumn, or spring. Water tanks can be cleaned in the heat of summer and in snow covered areas during winter.
It isn't necessary to empty your water tanks to clean them!
Many people think that running their water tanks dry will allow them to be cleaned and washed out.
If your tanks are full, we can clean them while they are full. We prefer to have the water at a lower level since it helps us move our specialized equipment, so we recommend approximately one meter to one third of the tank of water.
The water can then be sanitized to ensure it is perfectly safe to drink.
